Sledding Party
January 19, 2014 we wre planning a ski trip to Sundown but a friend called and asked if we would like to attend a sledding party at their house. I said we would have to ask Cody since this was his trip and he immediately said yes and asked if he could take a friend. He called his friend and he in turn was able to go. Cody's friend stayed Saturday night and Sunday we headed north. We arrived there and had lunch and then out to sled. It wasn't your normal saucer sledding. Their house front was full of hooks that held about 12 long runner type sleds that you have to steer. It was only about a 2 minute ride to the bottome of the hill but it was a good 10 minute walk up it. What a blast coming down all the turns and if you didn't turn just right, you plowed off the track and into a snowbank. We had a blast.

New Friends
Sorry, haven't posted in a while and I just got back in town. After arriving home, I started cleaning the pool and picked vegetables in the garden. I brought in a small handful of fresh peas for Nicholas (our dog) and we all had a slice of fresh blueberry pie that a friend of ours sent home this afternoon. While in Chicago I met a new friend. Her name is Pat and she has a doggie named Cooper. She was full of wonderful information on how to feed our pets healthier foods. I can't wait to get with her and share pet food recipes. She said that she was crazy about her furbabie. :) Well, its a little late and I am ready to go to bed. Talk to you later.

Sorry about not posting for a little while but things get crazy when it starts getting nice out. Nicholas has been hanging out at the park, going for walks, you know, all that dog stuff. Anyway, I have a little story to tell about him. Friday, on my way home from out of town, my husband called me and asked me if I would be passing a pet store. I was not even close to one but asked why. He told me that my youngest son's friend came over with a bag that was tied shut with a little water in it and a snail to boot. He wanted to show my son his new pet and then sat the bag down and took off to play. My husband told him not to sit it down because it could get torn up. Oh well, they took off anywany and our dog Nicholas came to investigate this bag. He apparantly grabbed the bag, tore it up and ate the snail. Yuck. My husband proceeded to tell me that he looked up information about this and it could give a dog heartworm but we give Nicholas heartworm medication every month so we are safe there and he was just tested for it and we are in the clear. He also said that he could get runny stools from it so we kept and eye on him for a few days. Well, it has been 7 days since this happened and the vet doesn't seem too concerned so I think hes okay.
Now, about something new. His food. He currently eats Purina Little Bites but I found Nutro Ultra Holistic Superfood and started mixing it with his current food. Now I like the idea of no ground corn in there. Its packed full of good stuff for Nicholas. I have to run but I will tell you more about it later. Chow for now.

Nicholas loves prime rib
Last night I prepared a prime rib for dinner and there were plenty of left overs. I chopped up a few pieces and divided little bits into baggies and then sent them to the freezer. This morning, I prepared about 1/4 cup of prime rib chopped into little bitty pieces and mixed them in with his Purina Little Bites and he gobbled his breakfast right up. This evening, I was talking to my sister and told her about it and she said, see, I told you that he eats better than she does because all she had for dinner was a bologna sandwich. Too funny. Well, thats all for today, talk to you later.

We're Back
Well, we picked Nicholas up last night and when we arrived home, I have never seen a dog so happy to be home. Well, they say, there's no place like home and he showed us just what that means. He ran everywhere, picked through his toys just spreading them throughout the house like nobodys business. He's such a good dog.
